| Another Achievement For Our Judicial Staff | |
![]() ![]() 47 judiciary and Attorney-General’s Chambers officers completed the Certificate Course on Intellectual Property Law organized by MyIPO in collaboration with BiotechCorp in Kota Kinabalu. Out of these 47 officers, 20 of the Judiciary were from the state of Sabah and Sarawak and 27 from Peninsular Malaysia of which include 10 officers from the Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism. The Graduation Ceremony was graced by YAA Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Richard Malanjum, Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak. The course consists of 3 modules i.e. Copyright Law, Trademark Law and Patent Law meant to equip the officers of IP Court with the essential knowledge on Intellectual Property Law.
The Intellectual Property (IP) Court of Malaysia was established in July 2007 to provide efficient case disposal involving Intellectual Property. The IP Court network is made up of six (6) High Courts of Malaya (Intellectual Property) and High Court of Borneo (Intellectual Property) and 15 Sessions Court with criminal jurisdiction known as with “Sessions Court (Intellectual Property)” for each state including Putrajaya.
A total of 34 officers graduated from the first batch of this programme last year.
