| 19 December 2011- Monthly assembly for December 2011 co-organized by Training Unit and Public Relations Unit was held at the IPTC Hall, Menara UOA Bangsar.
In the opening remarks, YBhg. Dato’ Azizan Mohamad Sidin emphasized on teamwork in order to gain a higher performance and deliver a high quality of service. He also conveyed his appreciation to all staff of MyIPO who have always been committed in enhancing MyIPO’s image and credibility.
The ceremony was made meaningful with the presence of Chairman of MyIPO, YB Dato’ Abdul Manan Ismail. In his speech, he outlined the achievements of MyIPO throughout year 2011. Among the achievements are the implementation of Expedited Examination which effective 15 February 2011 has placed Malaysia as one of the fastest IP office in the world, Copyright Act 1987 (Amendment) Bill 2010 has passed at the House of Representatives on 3 October 2011, and opening of three new branches in Johor Bahru (Southern), Kuantan (East Coast) and Penang (Northern).

He also announced the financial performance of MyIPO which has revealed an increase of 32% compared to 2010, an increase of 400% applications through IP Online System, and quality of local patent drafting which has showed an increase of 50%. Such commitment, he said, should strive to uphold in achieving the vision and mission of MyIPO.
There was also an award giving ceremony for MyIPO’s staff who have scored 4As and above in UPSR as well as school’s endowment for employees who earn below RM2500.
