3 January 2012 – MyIPO received a courtesy visit from the representatives of Malaysian Music Industry Co-Operative Berhad, Mr.Johan Nawawi, Mrs.Norkhayati Mohd Hashim and Mr.Justin Johari Azman.

The delegation was welcomed by YBhg.Dato’ Azizan Mohamad Sidin, Director General of MyIPO and Heads of Department.

A brief presentation on trade mark was presented by Mr.Ryzul bin Osman Basah, Assistant Registrar of Trade Mark Division and followed by a detailed presentation on copyright which focused on the major amendments to the Copyright Act 1987 Bill 2010 that has recently passed the House of Senate on 21 December 2011. The presentation was delivered by Mr.Mohamed Fairuz bin Mohd Pilus, Head of Copyright and Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits Division.

The courtesy visit has also discussed on the smart partnership on awareness programmes at mutual interest.
