10 December 2020 – MyIPO hosted its first-ever virtual National IP Award (NIPA) ceremony today. The shift in format is a consequence of heightened COVID-19 protocols which are in effect to combat the coronavirus.
NIPA 2020 received 138 entries from high school, technical institutes and vocational colleges from all over the country for the two categories which are Intellectual Property Inventor Category and Young Intellectual Property Inventor Category. The finalists for the national level are the gold medal winners of NIPA’s zone level competition. (more)

15 September 2020- The monthly assembly for September was organized by Trademark and Geographical Indications Department here in Intellectual Property Academy of MyIPO.
Director General of MyIPO, Dato’ Mohd Roslan bin Mahayudin, in his speech highlighted that it has been a year that Malaysia deposited its instrument of accession to the Madrid Protocol. “Malaysia’s accession spotlights the Madrid System’s emergence as a key component of protecting marks internationally, offering an Ease of Doing Business eco-system,” he added. 17 July 2020- MyIPO’s monthly assembly for July 2020 which was jointly organized by Patent Division and Industrial Design Division was made meaningful with the presence of newly appointed Chairman of MyIPO, YB Datuk Mohamad bin Hj Alamin.
The assembly was the first after the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced on March 18 to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

30 Jun 2020 – Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumerism, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi undertook his first official visit to Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO). He was accompanied by the Legal Advisor of KPDNHEP, Datuk Tay Lee Ly.

EXCELLENT SERVICE AWARD CEREMONY
13 March 2020- Excellent Service Award (APC) Ceremony was held jointly by three agencies under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) namely Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO),Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM),and Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC).
A total of 33 employees of MyIPO were selected as APC recipients for 2019. They consist of various divisions and branches throughout Malaysia. All APC winners from MyIPO bring home a certificate of appreciation and RM1,000 cash.

MyIPO – JPO FOLLOW-UP SEMINAR ON DEVELOPMENT OF IP LEGISLATION
17 February 2020 – Japan Patent Office (JPO) and Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation (JIPII) in cooperation with MyIPO organized the MyIPO-JPO Follow Up Seminar on Development of IP Legislation in Kuala Lumpur.
The seminar aimed to share updates on recent IP legislations and developments in Malaysia and Japan. The seminar contents covered, among others, Patent Examination of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things Technologies by Japan and, Overview of IP System in Japan and Malaysia. (more)
