PETALING JAYA, 26 APRIL 2026 – The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) today organised the Serve & Protect: HHIN Media Pickleball Challenge 2026 as a platform to appreciate and strengthen strategic partnerships with media representatives.

Held in conjunction with the National Intellectual Property Day (HHIN) 2026 celebration, themed “Intellectual Property, the Pulse of Malaysia MADANI: IP & Sports – From Idea to Podium”, the programme highlights the strong connection between sports, innovation and intellectual property in creating value and driving future industries.

Through a relaxed and interactive approach, the programme not only promotes sportsmanship but also enhances collaboration between MyIPO and the media in raising public awareness on the importance of intellectual property protection.

The programme also reflects MyIPO’s ongoing commitment to engaging stakeholders in a more inclusive and dynamic manner, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.

The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) has successfully rolled out its nationwide youth outreach programme, IP Talk – GAME ON: CREATE. PROTECT. OWN, in conjunction with the National Intellectual Property Day (HHIN) 2026 celebration.

The programme was officially launched on 16 April 2026 at Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil by MyIPO Director General, YBrs. Puan Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, marking the beginning of a strategic initiative to cultivate intellectual property (IP) awareness among student athletes and young innovators.

Following the launch, the programme was expanded simultaneously today, 22 April 2026 to five additional sports schools nationwide, namely Sekolah Sukan Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Johor; Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Terengganu; SMK Tunku Anum Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kedah; Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Sabah; and SMK Tabuan Jaya, Sarawak.

Held under the theme “Intellectual Property, Nadi Malaysia MADANI: From Idea to Podium”, the programme highlights the growing connection between sports, creativity and innovation. It aims to inspire students to recognise that success is not only built on physical talent and discipline, but also on ideas that can be protected and turned into valuable assets.

The initiative reflects MyIPOs continued commitment to building an IP-conscious generation from the grassroots level, while encouraging students to become not only future champions in sports, but also creators, innovators and owners of their own ideas.

The nationwide programme was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education through the Sports, Co-Curricular and Arts Division.

Bukit Jalil, 16 April 2026 – The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) organised the IP Talk – Game On: Create, Protect, Own programmed at Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil in conjunction with National Intellectual Property Day 2026 (HHIN2026).

Officiated by MyIPO Director General, Mrs. Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, the programmed aimed to enhance students’ awareness of intellectual property (IP) while fostering creativity and innovation among young talents.

More than 100 students participated in engaging sessions, including talks, interactive activities and quizzes, designed to introduce key IP concepts and highlight opportunities to generate value from creative ideas, particularly in sports.

The initiative also emphasized IP as a valuable asset for career development and economic opportunities. The programmed will be expanded to several other sports schools nationwide on 22 April 2026.

Petaling Jaya, 13 April 2026 – The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) and the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen strategic collaboration in intellectual property (IP) protection and data sharing.

The collaboration focuses on structured data sharing and expanding information outreach to the business community, with the aim of increasing awareness on IP protection and good business governance.

MyIPO Director General, Mrs. Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff said the initiative will enhance access to IP information and strengthen the commercialization ecosystem while reducing risks of IP infringement.

SSM Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz highlighted that the collaboration will help strengthen Malaysia’s business landscape towards greater resilience, integrity and sustainability.

The initiative also supports high-impact programmes to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs and startups, in line with the nation’s aspiration towards an innovation-driven economy.

PETALING JAYA, 13 MARCH 2026 – The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) has taken an early initiative to raise awareness on Intellectual Property (IP) Financing among creative industry players through a seminar held in Petaling Jaya.

The first series of the programme brought together IP owners, creative industry players, financial institutions, and IP valuation experts, with the aim of strengthening Malaysia’s IP commercialisation and financing ecosystem. The seminar was officiated by the Director General of MyIPO, YBrs. Ms. Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, who highlighted that intellectual property should not only be seen as legal protection but also as a valuable economic asset for financing and investment purposes.

The programme aims to shift industry perception from “protecting ideas” to “commercialising assets”, while also providing exposure on IP valuation and creating opportunities for collaboration between IP owners and financial institutions.

The seminar also featured industry experts and creative practitioners who shared insights on IP valuation, investment opportunities, and business development strategies.

Through this initiative, MyIPO hopes to bridge the understanding gap between creators, IP owners, and financiers, while strengthening Malaysia’s intellectual property commercialisation ecosystem.
