15 February 2019 – MyIPO hosted the ASEAN-USPTO Advanced Workshop on Three-Dimensional and Other Non-Traditional Marks which was held which was organized by United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and ASEAN Secretariat.

Designed to be practical with lectures, discussions and simulation exercises, the workshop encouraged active participation and exchange of knowledge among the participants. Throughout the knowledge sharing from speakers from USPTO, Ms.Cynthia Henderson and Ms.Attiya Malik, they gained an insight of the three-dimensional marks and non-traditional marks which includes colour, sound, scent, motion, hologram, texture, tactile and touch.

Tuan Haji Mohd Shahar Osman, Deputy Director General (Corporate) of MyIPO who officiated the workshop on behalf of the Director General said that the protection of non-traditional marks is to ensure that businesses live up to the highest standards of IP protection.
