31 October 2017- MyIPO in collaboration with Japan Copyright Office (JCO) and Content Overseas Distribution Association (CODA) have successfully organized the Copyright Related Seminar on Enforcement of Copyright Works in the Field of Creative Contents.

The one-day seminar was delivered by speakers from JCO, CODA and Enforcement Division of Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism. It provides participants the platform to learn the experience from CODA and Toei Animation. Participants also discussed specific proposals on copyright protection framework and countermeasures.

The Deputy Director General (Strategic and Technical) of MyIPO, Mr Zulkarnain Muhammad who officiated the seminar expressed his concern to further IP awareness programmes to awaken the society to the concept and importance of IP. “The society need to be educated about IP particularly copyright so they can appreciate the need for such rights and can adhere to them”, he said.

The seminar was attended by 580 participants from the enforcement agencies and copyright industry.
