NANOMALAYSIA BERHAD SIGNS MOU WIT MyIPO FOR THE TISC PROGRAMME
12 November 2021 – NanoMalaysia Berhad (NMB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) for the Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) programme.
The programme provides a platform for IP training programmes, such as patent searching, patent drafting, IP commercialisation and IP marketing, conducted and coordinated by MyIPO, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
These training sessions will be conducted by experts in the field of IP from the United States and Europe, appointed by WIPO, using modules in accordance with the standards set by the WIPO, and to share “best practices” adopted abroad. (more)
PATENT DRAFTING WORKSHOP WITH UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PAHANG (UMP)
13 October 2021 – Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) organized a virtual Patent Drafting Workshop with the Department of Research and Innovation of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP).
The objectives of this workshop are to increase the understanding on intellectual property as well as to develop patent drafting skills and filing of IP among UMP researchers and lecturers. Participants were divided into three breakout rooms run by facilitators from MyIPO.
A total of 20 UMP’s researchers and lecturers have participated in this three-day workshop.
PATENT DRAFTING WORKSHOP WITH UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA (UUM)
12 October 2021 – Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) organized a virtual Patent Drafting Workshop with the Innovation and Commercialization Center (ICC) of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
The two -day workshop aims to provide understanding to the university officials on the patent drafting, hence encouraging patent filing among university researchers and lecturers. (more)
DIRECTOR GENERAL OF MyIPO APPOINTED
1 October 2021 – Mr Abdul Haris bin Lakar has been appointed as Director General of Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) on 1st October 2021.
Mr Abdul Haris holds Bachelor in Literature, Political Science and Bachelor in Strategic Analysis from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He was an Administrative and Diplomatic Officers (Pegawai Tadbir dan Diplomatik, PTD) and has served several Ministries. Prior to his appointment as Director General of MyIPO, Mr. Abdul Haris served as Division Secretary Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC).
IPMANAGE: ONE IP EXECUTIVE FOR EACH ORGANIZATION PROGRAMME
11 August 2021- Deputy Director General (Strategic & Technical) of MyIPO Mr. Zulkarnain Muhammad officiated the IPManage: One IP Executive for Each Organization programme which was held virtually today.
This programme is one of the initiatives to develop systematic IP management team in the public and private sector in Malaysia.
World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Korean Intellectual Property Organization (KIPO) and the Korean Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) are in support of this program in which they offer their training platforms and modules. This programme will be completed in 13-weeks starting from 11 August until 31 October 2021. (more)
FAREWELL RECEPTION 2021
14 July 2021 – MyIPO hosted a virtual farewell reception for Puan Fatimah Rohada, Deputy Director General (Management), Puan Norsita binti Ismail, Senior Director Of Patent Science & Traditional Knowledge Division, Puan Moziyah bte Mohd Tahir, Secretary to Deputy Director General (Strategic & Technical), Puan Rose binti Gida, IP Assistant and Encik Poji bin Karim, General Office Assistant who have served MyIPO for so long, before MyIPO been corporatized and was a Division under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.
The virtual farewell reception has been witnessed by MyIPO’s staff who also took the opportunity bid farewell to them. (more)
MONTHLY ASSEMBLY JANUARY 2021
21 January 2021 – MyIPO hosted its first-ever virtual monthly assembly today. The shift in format is a consequence of Movement Control Order and heightened COVID-19 protocols which are in effect to combat the coronavirus.
The assembly was made meaningful with the presence of Chairman of MyIPO, YB Datuk Mohamad bin Hj Alamin.
In his speech he highlighted that MyIPO’s staff shouldn’t feel complacent with the current achievements instead they need to be more flexible, more strategic, more innovative and creative, more value-added and more creative. (more)
