MONTHLY ASSEMBLY SEPTEMBER 2020
15 September 2020- The monthly assembly for September was organized by Trademark and Geographical Indications Department here in Intellectual Property Academy of MyIPO.
Director General of MyIPO, Dato’ Mohd Roslan bin Mahayudin, in his speech highlighted that it has been a year that Malaysia deposited its instrument of accession to the Madrid Protocol. “Malaysia’s accession spotlights the Madrid System’s emergence as a key component of protecting marks internationally, offering an Ease of Doing Business eco-system,” he added.
He later announced Malaysia’s ranking in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2020 which has leaped two places to rank 33rd. Malaysia becomes the second most innovative among 37 upper middle-income group economies in the world, behind China and ranks eighth among the 17 economies in South East Asia, East Asia, and Oceania.
The assembly was continued with multimedia presentation on compilation of MyIPO’s monthly activities and birthday celebration.
