4 May 2019 – Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) has organized the National Intellectual Property Day 2019 celebration in Uptown Sports Bangi.

With the theme of “Reach For Goal: IP and Sports”, this event is an opportunity to celebrate our sporting heroes, and all the people around the world who are innovating behind the scenes to boost sports’ performance and its global appeal.

In the event, a total of 110 pre-loved items of Malaysian athlete such as jersey and sports’ equipments belong to national athletes and former athletes have been sold to the public.

The Pre-Loved Charity Programme was supported by National Sports Council (MSN), Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and National Athlete Welfare Foundation (YAKEB).

Among goods that get highest bids were Datuk Lee Chong Wei’s badminton racket, Shalin Zulkifli’s bowling ball, Azizul Hasni Awang’s cycling jersey and 2018 AFF Cup final and signed by the Harimau Malaya squad. The total sale of the items goes into  ‘YAKEB Fund For X-Athlete’ – a special fund to assist former national athletes. MyIPO also presented contributions of RM5,000.00 to the fund which was received by YAKEB Chairman, Dato’ Noorul Ariffin Abdul Majeed.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs , who did a ‘kick start’ to the futsal match between celebrity team, MyIPO team and Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) team.

Also present to show their support were Secretary General of KPDNHEP, Datuk Muez Abd. Aziz, Deputy Secretary General(Consumerism & Management) KPDNHEP, Datuk Rostam Affendi, Chairman of MyIPO, Dr.Rozhan Othman, Director General MyIPO, Dato’ Mohd Roslan Mahayudin, FAM General Secretary, Stuart Ramalingam and former national players including Datuk Santokh Singh, Reduan Abdullah, Yap Kam Choon, Shahril Arsat, Khalid Ali and A. Jayakanthan.
