2. MyIPO, EUROPEAN PATENT OFFICE AND JAPAN PATENT OFFICE SIGN MoU TO PURSUE COLLABORATION ON IP SYSTEMS AND PRACTICES
OFFICIAL VISIT BY CHAIRMAN OF MyIPO
3 Jun 2020 – The newly appointed Chairman of MyIPO, Datuk Mohamad bin Hj. Alamin undertook his first official visit to MyIPO today.
He was briefed on the corporate profile of MyIPO, challenges, achievements, and new initiatives presented by Director General of MyIPO, Dato’ Mohd Roslan Mahayudin.
He then made a press conference on the impact of Covid-19 pandemic to the number of IP registration in Malaysia. He said, “The Covid 19 pandemic has been severely impacting not only to corporate companies and small and medium industrial businesses but also to the Government agencies such as MyIPO”.
He also said that MyIPO received a total of 3,759 online applications comprised of trademark, patent and industrial design during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period which is from March until May 2020.
