MAJLIS PELANCARAN SEMINAR DAN SESI MEJA BULAT PENGETAHUAN TRADISIONAL SEMPENA SAMBUTAN HARI BIODIVERSITI PERINGKAT NEGERI SABAH TAHUN 2024

11 Jun 2024 – MyIPO dengan kerjasama Pusat Biodiversiti Sabah (SaBC) hari ini menganjurkan Seminar dan Sesi Meja Bulat Pengetahuan Tradisional sempena Sambutan Hari Biodiversiti Peringkat Negeri Sabah Tahun 2024. Program ini telah dirasmikan oleh Timbalan Menteri Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup, YB Senator Puan Hajah Fuziah Salleh.
Seminar dan sesi meja bulat yang dihadiri hampir 200 orang peserta ini diadakan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesedaran masyarakat tempatan mengenai kepentingan perlindungan pengetahuan tradisional dan sumber genetik.
Program ini diharapkan akan memberikan manfaat kepada semua peserta dan mendorong semua pihak untuk lebih proaktif dalam usaha melindungi dan memelihara khazanah biodiversiti serta warisan pengetahuan tradisional kita.
Turut hadir, Pembantu Menteri II, Kementerian Pertanian, Perikanan dan Industri Makanan, YB Tuan Peto Galim, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah (Strategik & Teknikal) MyIPO, Pn. Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, Pengarah Pusat Biodiversiti Sabah, Dr. Gerald Jetony dan Pengarah Institut Biologi Tropika dan Pemuliharaan, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (IBTP, UMS), YBrs. Professor Madya Dr. Fiffy Hasnidah Saikim.

LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF THE SEMINAR AND ROUNDTABLE SESSION ON TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 2024 SABAH STATE BIODIVERSITY DAY

11 Jun 2024 – MyIPO, in collaboration with the Sabah Biodiversity Centre (SaBC), hosted the Seminar and Roundtable Session on Traditional Knowledge in celebration of the 2024 Sabah State Biodiversity Day. The program was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, YB Senator Puan Hajah Fuziah Salleh.
This seminar and roundtable session, which drew nearly 200 participants, aimed to enhance awareness among the local community regarding the importance of safeguarding traditional knowledge and genetic resources.
The program is anticipated to provide significant benefits to all attendees and to motivate stakeholders to be more active in efforts to protect and preserve our biodiversity and traditional knowledge heritage.
Also in attendance were the Assistant Minister II of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry, YB Tuan Peto Galim, the Deputy Director General (Strategic & Technical) of MyIPO, Pn. Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, the Director of the Sabah Biodiversity Centre, Dr. Gerald Jetony, and the Director of the Institute for Tropical Biology and Conservation, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (ITBC, UMS), YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Fiffy Hasnidah Saikim.
