12 October 2016 – A total of 80 entrepreneurs of Small and Medium Enterprises around Tawau had attended the Trademark and Geographical Indications Seminar organized by MyIPO.

Deputy Director General (Industrial Property) of MyIPO, Mr Abdul Aziz Ismail in his opening address at the seminar said that intellectual property registration gives exclusive rights to the owner to use, sell or license the rights as well as the rights to take legal action for infringement under the IP laws.

The one day seminar provides information on the protection system of trade mark and industrial design as well as on the enforcement of IP rights. Participants were also given the opportunity to have exclusive consultation with MyIPO’s officers on the trademark filing procedures.
