Petaling Jaya, 28 April 2026 – The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) organised the Seminar on Intellectual Property in Sports in conjunction with the National Intellectual Property Day (HHIN) 2026 at the IP Academy, MyIPO Tower, PJ Sentral.
The seminar was officiated by MyIPO Deputy Director General (Commercial), Dr. Kamarul Faizal bin Hashim, who emphasised that intellectual property is no longer merely about protection, but serves as a strategic advantage in driving performance, enhancing branding, and expanding commercialization opportunities in the modern sports industry.
The seminar brought together industry experts and key stakeholders to discuss key areas including IP protection, monetization, and strategic positioning. The programme aligns with the HHIN 2026 theme, “Harta Intelek Nadi Malaysia MADANI: IP & Sukan – Dari Idea ke Podium”, in strengthening Malaysia’s position as an innovation-driven economy.
The programme also served as an important platform to raise awareness on the importance of intellectual property management within the sports industry, particularly in navigating an increasingly competitive and value-driven global landscape.
