MyIPO LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE IP AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR YOUNG ATHLETES

APRIL 2026

The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) has successfully rolled out its nationwide youth outreach programme, IP Talk – GAME ON: CREATE. PROTECT. OWN, in conjunction with the National Intellectual Property Day (HHIN) 2026 celebration.

The programme was officially launched on 16 April 2026 at Sekolah Sukan Bukit Jalil by MyIPO Director General, YBrs. Puan Yusnieza Syarmila Yusoff, marking the beginning of a strategic initiative to cultivate intellectual property (IP) awareness among student athletes and young innovators.

Following the launch, the programme was expanded simultaneously today, 22 April 2026 to five additional sports schools nationwide, namely Sekolah Sukan Tunku Mahkota Ismail, Johor; Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Terengganu; SMK Tunku Anum Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kedah; Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Sabah; and SMK Tabuan Jaya, Sarawak.

Held under the theme “Intellectual Property, Nadi Malaysia MADANI: From Idea to Podium”, the programme highlights the growing connection between sports, creativity and innovation. It aims to inspire students to recognise that success is not only built on physical talent and discipline, but also on ideas that can be protected and turned into valuable assets.

The initiative reflects MyIPOs continued commitment to building an IP-conscious generation from the grassroots level, while encouraging students to become not only future champions in sports, but also creators, innovators and owners of their own ideas.

The nationwide programme was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education through the Sports, Co-Curricular and Arts Division.
